After the first prototype in 2022, the chair was re-developed by adjusting the angle and curvature of the backrest and seat. The name ‘Offset’ derives from its use of rectangular members that break away from a standardized order, intentionally misaligned and interlocked. These members, with their contrast between wide and narrow faces, penetrate and intersect one another, revealing shifts of line, plane, depth, and shadow depending on the viewer’s position. This approach, inspired by the geometric chair structures of Gerrit Rietveld and Marcel Breuer, represents an attempt to explore diverse visual contrasts within a single elemental form.
